This regulation was due to recent info, known by the governments, about the dangerous effects of alcohol. Such as, alcohol increasing the chances of cancer. As well as much alcohol, giving liver damage and therefore, the threat of death.
In the 1920s, fashion would change. Women would have dresses, that would only go halfway down, the under knee area, of their legs. Men often wore bolwer hats, that are now known as gangster hats, for the next few decades.
By the 1920s, there was also buses in Australia.
Throughout the 1920s, car ownership would increase. However, not everyone in Australia, would own a car. The car however would cause car crashes, in a time with no seat belts. Some crashes would result in death and far more injures. At least some of the crashes, would be caused by alcohol.
Manufacturing of cars in Australia, got 10,000s of jobs, for factory workers.
Cars and buses also caused environmental pollution. Which caused climate change. In 2022, 97% of public climate scientist claim to believe, in cars and buses causing climate change. Cars also caused less clean air, which increases the chances, of people getting deadly diseases. Climate change, was not known at the time and average Australians possibly didn't know about the disease elements, at that point.
Also throughout the 1920s, more Australians would enter the middle-class.
By 1921, the overall non-Aboriginal population of Australia had decreased to 11% of the population assumably due to increased technolgy.
In 1922, the metal lead was added to gasoline in some Australian cars. This was to stop the 2 problems, cars could face at the time. Which was cars shutting down on roads, with the driver, having to go through effort, of turning it on again. While other cars had engines, that made loud nose and slowly broke the cars. Possibly unknown to the Australian public at the time. The air pollution from this lead, would increase, the chances of someone getting deadly diseases. While also decreasing peoples intelligence and increasing their chances of aggression.
Also in 1922, Ireland, which Irish-Australians still party identified with, went from being under much British control, by getting to govern themselves. With the exception of a small part of Ireland, called northern Ireland, that was still under much British control, as many people in northern Ireland were protestant and wanted to be ruled by protestant Britain and not catholic Ireland. Britain had some control over the rest of Ireland, in the form of foreign relations. being controlled by Britain.
In 1923 Stanley Bruce, became prime minister of Australia, after prime minister Bill Hughes quit as prime minister. The political party in charge Australia, was the nationalist party. So the nationalist party and country party(representing farmers), joined into a coalition, with the nationalist party, still being the majority party.
By the late 1920s, cocaine, is illegal. However, both illegal cocaine and illegal opium, was in use, by some Australians, in the late 1920s. Both are types of drugs. Banning items lead to illegal sales of such items, in which cases of gang and gang like violence, including murder, are committed.
In 1925 the Australian state of New South Wales, the labor party, was elected into state power, with Jack Lang as premier. New South Wales under Jack Lang and the labor party, would decrease the gap between the upper class and lower class, in the state. Including in the form of getting bosses, to give workers only a 44 hour work week. Jack Lang also tried to ban the states parliaments upper house, which was disliked by many voters. The upper house approved laws, from the lower house. Jack Lang didn't have full control over the lower house. In 1927, the the labor party and Jack Lang lost reelection
By 1928, the drug cannabis was banned in Victoria. With the importation of cannabis banned by Australia.
In 1928, in the Northern territory, a Aboriginal tribe allegedly killed 2 Australians. So a few Australian extremists, did a massacre, called the Coniston massacre, killing around 30 Aboriginals of the tribe. With the courts declaring the extremist, acted in self defence
Also in 1928, a Australian named Donald Bradman, started playing for the Australian cricket team. He would become the best professional cricketer, in the world, at the time. He would also become famous across Australia.
In 1929, the Labor party, with James Scullin, as its prime minister was elected into national power.
By the 1930s, many if not all Australian families had a radio. This meant Australians could listen to sporting events, at home. This included the horse racing and VFL(Victorian football league), which was a professional sporting league, in the Australian state of Victoria. Australian rules football, was still most popular in Victoria. This increased interest in house racing, lead to more illegal gambling.
In the 1930s, the great depression happened, making unemployment reach 1 in 3 Australian men. This was due to a American stock market crash in 1929. Which effected global economy.
In 1930, in New South Wales, the labor party, was elected into state power, with Jack Lang as premier.
Also in 1930, the racing horse Phar Lap became famous, across Australia, after winning public racing matches.
In 1931, Britain created the Statute of Westminster. Where Britain would be able to not disapprove any laws made by Australia. However, Australian under the Labor party and prime minister James Scullin, choose not to install it into law, for the time being. The Statue of Westminster also applied to the Irish Free State, which was the homeland of Irish-Australians, however they choose not to install it, as they believed they unofficially such power. South Africa would soon after make Britian less powerful by installing the Statute, even though Australian soldiers in the Second Boer War from 1899-1902, fought to defend and expand the nation.
In 1932, the racing horse Phar Lap died. Conspiracy theories claimed that America killed him, for being competition.
In 1932, the United Australia party, with Joseph Lyons, as its prime minister was elected into national power. Joseph Lyons was a popular prime minister.
Also in 1932, the Sydney harbour bridge by finished. A large bridge which connected different parts of Sydney. This also cost much money, while also giving the workers, who built it, jobs.
Also in 1932, New South Wales under Jack Lang refused to give social workers less payment, after the Australian government under prime minister Joseph Lyons ordered them to. The governor of New South Wales then fired Jack Lang as Premier, for disobeying the law of the Australian government.
By 1934, the population of Australia was far over 6,000,000.
Also by 1934, the great depression ended in Australia and in 1934, the economy started to recover from the great depression.
Also in 1934, the Untied Australia party joined into a coalition, with the Country party. With Joseph Lyons still as prime minister.
In 1936, King Edward the 8th became the king of Britain and then resigned that year. Making his brother, King George the 6th, become the king. He resigned, due to the controversy, of marrying of divorced American female. Through both Britian having some power over Australia and through the Governor General, both kings were sort of the King of Australia.
Also in 1936, the Thylacine, also known as the Tasmanian tiger, officially become extinct due to hunting in Tasmania.

By 1939, Germany was a under dictatorship again. In March of 1939, Germany invaded and conquered the Slavic(eastern European) nation of Czechoslovakia. So Britain, France and Slavic Poland, entered an alliance, to all go to war with Germany, if any of them was invaded, by Germany. If Britain went to war with Germany, that would mean that Australia would go to war with Germany. As Australians, or at least Anglo-Australians, embraced British identity, while still embracing Australian identity and was in a sort of alliance with Britain. Still similar to how they did, in the 1910s.
In April of 1939, prime minister Joseph Lyons died of natural causes, with Earle Page of the Country Party becoming prime minister. The Country Party, was still in coalition with the United Australia Party(which was elected into national power). So Earle page offered the Untied Australia to elected in a new prime minister of their own party. Robert Menzies of the United Australia Party, became prime minister. So the Country Party ended the coalition, out of being unhappy with the choice.
